As I've been relatively free of deadlines for a while I decided it was time to finish up the Aegis Gundam conversion I started over two years ago. There's still the rifle left to go, so the Aegis is holding a Kotobukiya Sword to help balance things out for the time being. Painting was something of a hassle as I'd been using an airbrush with cans of propellant that only allowed me to paint for five minutes at a go and seemed to run out pretty quickly, so I haven't got the silky smooth finish I envisioned when I started spraying, and because the propellant ran out I had to finish the rest by hand.
I'd probably have got to this stage a lot sooner, but I realised that I didn't have any yellow paint and it wasn't until recently that I was able to get to a craft store to buy a tiny pot of acrylic. I ended buying a pot of Tamiya flat Yellow to mix the colour I was looking for and was slightly amused by the warning that the paint can cause Cancer.
There's still a few more things that need to be done, like the rifle, but I also have a sheet of Decals based on the Master Grade Aegis that I have to decide whether or not to use.
